Profound acoustical studies have led to the selection of a down-firing bass-reflex port in the S-73 floor-standing speaker to improve the low frequency response of the sound reproduction. Inheriting the EX Series’ ABD (Acoustic Balance Drive) and AFAST (Acoustical Filter Assisted System Tuning) simulation technologies, the S-31 completely eliminates vertical standing waves usually responsible for uneven, boomy or sucked out bass response. The result is precise and dynamic bass with no low midrange colouration.
All Series 73 models feature our Phase Control technology, which manages time and phase response of the speakers to minimise the effect of sound delays usually due to the filtering process of multi-channel recordings. When combining these speakers with a Pioneer AV receiver featuring Phase Control, multi-channel sound is reproduced faithful to the original source.
