The DMR-BWT550 is equipped with DLNA server/client functionality. By connecting to a LAN and using a compatible DLNA client device, recorded programmes and AVCHD and JPEG data archived on the DMR-BWT550’s HDD can be enjoyed in a separate room. In addition, WMV, AVCHD, JPEG, and MP3 data can be played on the DMR-BWT550 from a personal computer with a DLNA server function.
USB Input
The DMR-BWT550 is equipped with a card and USB slot that makes it easy to transfer images from an HD camcorder or digital still camera that uses USB Memory. Simply insert the memory module, and the DMR-BWT550 fills a large-screen TV with AVCHD-format video images (not USB) or JPEG stills in full 1920x 1080 resolution. You can also playback MP3, and DiVX/DiVX HD/MKV files.

Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio
In terms of audio, the new DMR-PWT550 support the superior surround sound of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master Audio Essential on Blu-ray Disc media. Users can connect the recorder to a compatible amplifier and enjoy the stunningly high quality 7.1-channel surround sound of Blu-ray Discs. The new recorders can save images from an HD camcorder or LUMIX digital camera onto the built-in hard disk drive or a Blu-ray Disc. In the past, you needed to use a computer or other device to save images like these, but Panasonic’s three new models make it easy to create discs right in the living room. Music CDs also can be recorded onto the hard disk drive. The DMR-PWT550 is compatible with Gracenote, so song titles and artist names are automatically recorded together with the music.
5.1ch Surround Sound Recording and Playback
The Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound signal embedded in HD broadcasts can also be recorded. By adding an AV receiver and speaker system, you can enjoy recordings complete with 5.1-channel surround sound.
