In our constant drive to deliver the best picture quality, regardless of the source image, we developed Resolution +, a revolution in image upscaling.
To use the 2 million pixels present, active internal scaling increases picture information up to 5 times the original; but high definition is about more than just the number of pixels.
Resolution + allows the new processor employed by the Regza ZV555D models to display standard definition (SD) images at near high definition quality, with improved edge detail and better textural content of the final image.
The processor is powerful enough to review adjacent areas of an image and correlate the information from the milliions of pixels within it, all at 100 times per second. It then determines waveforms of a similar nature and combines pixel information to enhance edge detail and improve the perceived depth and texture within the final image.
Resolution + works its technical magic on analogue/digital/ DVD source signals, but don't take our word for the dramatic improvement, see it yourself - you won't believe your eyes.

Active Vision M100HD (encompasses the following processes:)

1. Active Backlight Control: The backlight output varies with the brightness of the source signal which results in a better contrast/ brightness balance as well as reducing power output
2. Toshiba's quick-response LCD panel displays a true, clearly-defined image with no ghosting
3. Toshiba Stable Sound: Digital TV has allowed broadcasters to raise the volume level of adverts to attract the viewer's attention which can be irritating, particularly at night. Toshiba Stable Sound, when selected, cures this problem by dynamically adjusting the volume to maintain a constant audio level
4. Real Digital: The number of signal conversions are reduced to retain integrity
5. Enhanced Detail: Twice the pixels per second of other HDTVs are used improving detail
6. Natural Colour 4x more colour tones are used compared to other LCDs producing more natural skin tones and realistic scenes
7. Movement Motion blur and jagged edges are removed with a read ahead buffer
