3D Features
Frame Sequential Technology
Panasonic uses Full-HD Frame Sequential technology to create its 3D images. Images recorded in 1920 x 1080 pixels for both the right-eye and the left-eye alternately flash on the screen at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames per second. When you view the screen through active-shutter glasses that open and close each lens in sync with the alternating images, you see breathtaking FULL HD 3D pictures with stunning power and realism.
Minimal Afterglow
Reformulating the phosphor materials has minimised afterglow and increased luminous efficiency. This reduces crosstalk noise and displays clear, detailed 3D images.
New Light-Emitting Process
New VIERA optical technology reduces crosstalk in dark areas. Conventional light emission, which goes from dark-to-light, was changed to a light-to-dark sequence. This turns maximum emission afterglow into minimum emission afterglow, and dramatically reduces the afterglow duration. Also, by speeding up the timing of each light emission and expanding the interval until the next frame's emission, we greatly reduced the interference to the left and right frames, which causes crosstalk, and reduced noise.
New Crosstalk Reduction Technology
By accurately detecting the information for each of the right-eye and left-eye 3D images, we have been able to minimise double images, which pose the main noise problem in 3D. This results in clear, comfortable 3D viewing. It feels as though you're totally immersed in the picture.
3D 24p Smooth Film
VIERA incorporates technology that analyses picture information in both the preceding and succeeding frames, and creates a precise supplementary frame between them. This suppresses the jerky effect seen in films, so playback is smooth and natural-looking. The distinctive tonal qualities and atmosphere of the movie are preserved, and you enjoy extremely lifelike 3D images.
2D-3D Conversion
Unique Panasonic technology converts 2D images into high-quality 3D images in real-time. The technology generates a detailed depth effect for each type of image, so the 3D effect is natural and realistic. Use VIERA to enjoy Blu-ray movies, DVD movies and even ordinary TV broadcasts in 3D. The Super Resolution function allows images that were converted from 2D to 3D to be displayed in sharp, clear 3D while minimising crosstalk. 3D images with crisp contours are also produced from 3D broadcasts using the side-by-side method.
3D Adjustment Function
The addition of 3D image quality adjustment functions lets you enjoy 3D images more comfortably.
3D Image Viewer
It's easy to view 3D photos and movies you shot yourself on the big VIERA screen. After shooting with your 3D-compatible camera or camcorder, simply insert the SD card into the slot on a 3D-compatible VIERA TV. The viewing is incredible, with images so realistic it feels as though you're right back in the moment. You'll find that life's special moments are even more memorable when you preserve them in 3D.

Infinite Black Pro (Native Contrast 5,000,000:1)
In new VIERA models, contrast in brightly lit locations has been significantly improved. Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks – even when viewed in bright surroundings. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.

The 600Hz Sub-field Drive* in VIERA plasma TVs teams up with Intelligent Frame Creation Pro technology to deliver smooth, fluid, on-screen motion. By using an intelligent algorithm within the picture processing based on motion detection, the best combination of frames is created to deliver ultra crisp sports, film and game action.
THX 3D Certified Display
In order to enjoy the original image quality of a movie, you need to have a display that portrays the images exactly as the movie's creators intended. VIERA has cleared the high standards set by THX Certified Display Programme. It reproduces both 2D and 3D images with cinema-like quality. Enjoy beautiful images that are optimal for movies.
ISFccc- Imaging Science Foundation Certified Calibration Configuration
An ISF-certified installer can calibrate your VIERA, so that image reproduction is customised to actual viewing conditions in your home and your personal preferences. The calibration process provides the settings that bring out the full expressive potential within the image signals. Settings for contrast, tint, sharpness and colour are optimised to meet your home's lighting conditions for both daytime and nighttime viewing. The VT Series allows expert ISF Calibration.
24p Smooth Film
Enjoy naturally flowing 24p films and familiar TV-like quality. In plasma displays, increasing the number of frames creates smoother images. When reproducing images from a 24p film source, VIERA's 24p Smooth Film function generates smooth, natural-looking images.
Wide Colour Viewing Angle
No matter where you sit in the room, you see breathtaking images with spectacular colours. Plasma HDTVs are self-illuminating, so images look beautiful from any angle. Black areas do not fade, and colours look virtually the same from every point in the room.
Super Resolution
The Super Resolution function restores the fine definition and detail that are inherently part of the image but sometimes lost in reproduction. Each area within the image frame is digitally processed for optimum quality. This process up-converts standard-definition images – such as those from TV broadcasts and DVDs – to a level approaching full-HD.
Sound for VT Series
Newly developed speakers bring additional power to 3D images. An improved dual speaker layout produces clearer, higher-quality sounds, while an enhanced configuration allows bass speakers to reproduce dynamic, robust bass sounds.
CONEQ
CONEQ, an acoustic power equalising technology, produces sounds that are extremely faithful to the source. An optimal acoustic field is reproduced in front of the TV. CONEQ is also used in mastering studios and concert halls, as its sound enhancing technologies are widely recognised by sound engineers.

DLNA / Wi-Fi Ready
Connect a DLNA-compatible VIERA and DLNA-compatible AV equipment to your home network, and you can watch movies, listen to music, and view photos from any room in the house. VIERA's Wi-Fi capability gives you even more layout flexibility.
SD Card Recording
You can easily record a TV programme that you are presently watching onto an SD Memory Card. Simply press a button on the remote control to record the TV programme you are viewing.
USB HDD Recording
USB HDD Recording lets you easily record onto an external USB HDD. Simply connect a cable between VIERA's USB terminal and the USB terminal of the USB HDD. Recordings can be easily controlled using VIERA's remote control. You can record your favourite TV series, films and other content on to the USB HDD. Rewind Live TV lets you to rewind a live TV programme to catch the scenes you want to see, so you won't miss the important moments.
USB Connection
Equipped with a USB terminal, VIERA makes it easy to connect a PC and view your stored photos and videos on the big full-HD screen. Likewise, you can listen to stored music through VIERA's outstanding sound system. As with the VIERA Image Viewer, you can take advantage of a variety of easy-to-use functions, such as slide shows and thumbnail displays. You can also connect a USB Keyboard and Wireless LAN Adaptor for easy, comfortable use of the VIERA Connect feature.
VIERA Tools
The VIERA Tools user interface makes it easy to access and understand key functions. Simply press a function button, and an explanation appears on the screen. Keep the button pressed to activate the function immediately.
Game Mode
Games are much more fun when there's no lag in operation. VIERA automatically chooses settings that provide the optimal image, so you get super-fast response and no delays. Even dark scenes with delicately rendered details are beautiful and easy to see.
VIERA Link
VIERA Link interlinks the operation of a variety of AV devices, so you can operate them all using only the VIERA remote control. Setup is easy – simply connect the devices to each other via HDMI cables.
ARC (Audio Return Channel)
Using a single HDMI cable, VIERA can output the audio portion of a TV broadcast to your home cinema system, so you can enjoy full-fledged surround sound. You no longer need two cables to connect VIERA to a home cinema system.

Mercury and Lead Free Plasma Display Panel
Panasonic is committed to making our products more friendly to the environment. In line with this commitment, all VIERA plasma display panels are free of both lead and mercury. This reduces impact on the environment years down the road when the TV is recycled or retired from use.
